This session will discuss the latest developments in cancer genomics.  The session will begin with an update on technology development and ongoing collaborative cancer genomic projects, such as The Cancer Genome Atlas.  The public availability of genomic data will be discussed.   The use of genomic approaches for diagnosis and prevention of cancer will be reviewed. The incorporation of genomic biomarkers to predict clinical outcome and for the selection of molecularly targeted agents will be examined.  Throughout the session examples will be provided from gynecologic malignancies.  At the conclusion of the session, the participants should have a better understanding of the latest genomic technology and its application to screening, prevention, and therapeutic stratification.
